Biogas micro-networks
In most agricultural biogas plants, electricity is generated from biogas by means of cogeneration units, although the resulting heat is rarely used. Compared to conventional conversion of biogas into electricity, the utilisation of biogas in a micro-network has the advantage of greater overall efficiency, since energy losses caused by unused waste heat can be reduced.
The aim of the project is to optimise profitability and verify the technical feasibility of small-scale, local gas supply for several consumers via a low-pressure gas line network using biogas produced on-site.
HEI Consulting GmbH realises the project in cooperation with Energy Agency Obersteiermark, Fachhochschulstudiengänge Burgenland GmbH (University of Applied Sciences) and Dr. Ludwig Targik-Kumer (engineering office for technical physics).
